Le Qu\u00e9bec et le Canada dans son ensemble accusent un <b>retard majeur de productivit\u00e9<\/b>\u00a0par rapport aux \u00e9conomies comparables.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><p>Selon l\u2019Organisation de coop\u00e9ration et de d\u00e9veloppement \u00e9conomiques (OCDE), la\u00a0<b>productivit\u00e9 horaire du Canada est environ 30 % inf\u00e9rieure \u00e0 celle des \u00c9tats-Unis<\/b>, ce qui signifie que nous devons travailler beaucoup plus longtemps pour cr\u00e9er la m\u00eame valeur. Le Qu\u00e9bec affiche un retard similaire de\u00a0<b>pr\u00e8s de 30 % par rapport \u00e0 la moyenne des \u00e9conomies d\u00e9velopp\u00e9es<\/b>, selon le\u00a0<i>Livre bleu de la productivit\u00e9<\/i>\u00a0publi\u00e9 en mars 2025 par la F\u00e9d\u00e9ration des chambres de commerce du Qu\u00e9bec.<\/p><p>Plus pr\u00e9occupant encore, la croissance de la productivit\u00e9 canadienne est\u00a0<b>inf\u00e9rieure \u00e0 0,9 % par ann\u00e9e depuis 2001<\/b>, pla\u00e7ant le pays au\u00a0<b>28\u1d49 rang sur 38 pays de l\u2019OCDE<\/b>\u00a0entre 2000 et 2022 . Ce n\u2019est pas un accident ponctuel : il s\u2019agit d\u2019un probl\u00e8me structurel.<\/p><p>Ce d\u00e9ficit de productivit\u00e9 se traduit concr\u00e8tement par :<\/p><ul><li>une capacit\u00e9 d\u2019investissement r\u00e9duite;<\/li><li>des marges de man\u0153uvre limit\u00e9es pour augmenter les salaires;<\/li><li>une pression accrue sur les finances publiques;<\/li><li>et, ultimement, une \u00e9rosion du niveau de vie.<\/li><\/ul><h2>Quand le travail perd son statut central<\/h2><p class=\"x_elementToProof\">Paradoxalement, alors que la performance collective d\u00e9cline, le discours dominant dans plusieurs milieux de travail \u00e9vite soigneusement le mot \u00ab\u202fexigence\u202f\u00bb. On craint d\u2019\u00eatre per\u00e7u comme trop contr\u00f4lant, trop orient\u00e9 r\u00e9sultats ou,\u00a0pire encore, d\u00e9connect\u00e9 du bien-\u00eatre des employ\u00e9(e)s.<\/p><p>Or, les donn\u00e9es sur l\u2019engagement racontent une autre histoire.<\/p><p class=\"x_elementToProof\">Selon un rapport Gallup publi\u00e9 en 2025,\u00a0<b>seulement 21 % des employ\u00e9(e)s dans le monde se disent engag\u00e9(e)s au travail<\/b>, tandis que\u00a0<b>62 % sont non engag\u00e9(e)s<\/b>. L\u2019engagement des gestionnaires, pourtant essentiels \u00e0 la mobilisation des \u00e9quipes, a lui-m\u00eame recul\u00e9, passant de 30 % \u00e0 27 % en un an.<\/p><p>Contrairement \u00e0 une croyance r\u00e9pandue, ce d\u00e9sengagement n\u2019est pas caus\u00e9 par un exc\u00e8s d\u2019exigence, mais souvent par\u00a0<b>un manque de direction claire, d\u2019attentes explicites et de r\u00e9troaction<\/b>. Lorsque le travail devient flou, sans crit\u00e8res de r\u00e9ussite pr\u00e9cis, il cesse d\u2019\u00eatre une source de fiert\u00e9. Il devient une simple occupation.<\/p><h2>Le faux dilemme entre bien-\u00eatre et performance<\/h2><p>Nous avons cr\u00e9\u00e9 un faux dilemme : comme si exiger la performance \u00e9tait incompatible avec le respect des individus. Pourtant, la recherche en psychologie du travail montre exactement l\u2019inverse.<\/p><p class=\"x_elementToProof\">Le mod\u00e8le \u00ab demande\u2013contr\u00f4le \u00bb de Karasek d\u00e9montre que les environnements les plus mobilisants sont ceux o\u00f9 les\u00a0<b>exigences sont \u00e9lev\u00e9es<\/b>, mais o\u00f9 les employ\u00e9(e)s disposent aussi de\u00a0<b>marges de man\u0153uvre r\u00e9elles pour y r\u00e9pondre<\/b>. \u00c0 l\u2019oppos\u00e9, des emplois peu exigeants, m\u00eame tr\u00e8s flexibles, m\u00e8nent \u00e0 la stagnation, au d\u00e9sapprentissage et au d\u00e9sengagement.<\/p><p>Autrement dit,\u00a0<b>on ne peut pas \u00eatre fier d\u2019un travail qui ne nous demande rien<\/b>.<\/p><h2>5 leviers concrets pour remettre une culture de performance \u00e0 l\u2019avant-plan<\/h2><h3>1. Red\u00e9finir clairement ce que signifie \u00ab performer \u00bb<\/h3><p>La performance ne se r\u00e9sume pas au nombre d\u2019heures travaill\u00e9es ni \u00e0 une pression constante. Elle repose sur trois piliers : la valeur cr\u00e9\u00e9e, l\u2019efficience des processus et la qualit\u00e9 du r\u00e9sultat final. Les organisations doivent clarifier ce qu\u2019elles attendent r\u00e9ellement et cesser de confondre activit\u00e9 et contribution.<\/p><h3>2. R\u00e9habiliter les objectifs mesurables et assum\u00e9s<\/h3><p class=\"x_elementToProof\">Un sondage Gallup r\u00e9v\u00e8le que\u00a0<b>52 % des employ\u00e9(e)s jugent que les priorit\u00e9s qui leur sont communiqu\u00e9es manquent de clart\u00e9<\/b>. Sans objectifs pr\u00e9cis, il est impossible de ressentir de la fiert\u00e9. La clart\u00e9 n\u2019est pas une contrainte : c\u2019est un cadeau.<\/p><h3>3. Remettre la r\u00e9troaction au c\u0153ur du quotidien<\/h3><p class=\"x_elementToProof\">La culture actuelle \u00e9vite souvent les conversations exigeantes. Pourtant, la r\u00e9troaction r\u00e9guli\u00e8re, positive comme corrective, est l\u2019un des plus puissants leviers d\u2019engagement. Elle confirme que le travail compte, qu\u2019il est vu, \u00e9valu\u00e9 et perfectible.<\/p><h3>4. Investir dans la ma\u00eetrise plut\u00f4t que dans le confort<\/h3><p>Le Qu\u00e9bec souffre aussi d\u2019un\u00a0<b>sous-investissement chronique dans l\u2019innovation, les \u00e9quipements et la propri\u00e9t\u00e9 intellectuelle<\/b>, avec des niveaux inf\u00e9rieurs \u00e0 la moiti\u00e9 de la moyenne de l\u2019OCDE en 2019. Une culture de performance passe par le d\u00e9veloppement des comp\u00e9tences et la recherche de l\u2019excellence, pas uniquement par l\u2019optimisation du confort organisationnel.<\/p><h3>5. Redonner du sens par la contribution collective<\/h3><p>Les r\u00e9cits organisationnels ne suffisent plus \u00e0 mobiliser les employ\u00e9s. Le sens \u00e9merge d\u00e9sormais de la\u00a0<b>coh\u00e9rence entre le discours, les pratiques et les r\u00e9sultats r\u00e9els<\/b>. Quand les \u00e9quipes voient l\u2019impact concret de leur travail, la fiert\u00e9 suit naturellement.<\/p><h2>En conclusion : la fiert\u00e9 ne se d\u00e9cr\u00e8te pas, elle se construit<\/h2><p class=\"x_elementToProof\">Nous avons voulu humaniser le travail, et c\u2019\u00e9tait n\u00e9cessaire. Mais \u00e0 force d\u2019\u00e9viter toute exigence, nous avons parfois vid\u00e9 le travail de ce qui le rend profond\u00e9ment satisfaisant : le sentiment d\u2019avoir accompli quelque chose de difficile, d\u2019utile et de reconnu.<\/p><p>Remettre la culture de performance \u00e0 l\u2019avant-plan ne signifie pas revenir en arri\u00e8re. Cela signifie\u00a0<b>r\u00e9concilier bien-\u00eatre et ambition<\/b>, autonomie et responsabilit\u00e9, flexibilit\u00e9 et rigueur.<\/p><p>La fiert\u00e9 au travail n\u2019est pas un luxe du pass\u00e9.
